Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you
your heart’s desires. This verse from Psalm 37:4 is often repeated among the
Church with the intent of saying "if you begin to take delight and pleasure in
God, you can get whatever your little heart desires, meaning materialistic
temporal blessings. While God does bless us with material blessings, that is
not the ultimate meaning of this Scripture. Rather, if we truly delight
ourselves in the Lord we will find that our affections will begin to shift from
earthly desires to heavenly desires, from the temporal to the eternal. We will
literally find ourselves thirsting for more and more of God. Because "Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also
be." Matthew 6:21
I love the way you break down the word of God, its such a Blessing.
